Impressed

I got these chews for my dog who eats ...well poo.... and since I've give him the chews daily... he hasn't eaten poop from outside anymore and his breathe smells better and he's been more energetic! I love these and will keep buying them.

Used for years

This is the 3rd dog we've had that has used this product. We live in the country and have lots of bears, pigs, etc that like to relieve themselves on our property. This works great to keep the dogs away from eating or rolling in it!

Coprophagia Stool Eating Deterrent Soft Chews

Alessandra Dias

Hello. My german spitz has been taking this product daily for 2 months now. He takes 1 chew a day and he is 15 lbs. So far he has not changed his habit of eating his own feces: sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn’t. I would say that 50% of the time he does. Nothing related to being hungry, as he eats his food very well. Not related to being alone, being bored, apparently none of those usual triggers apply. So I have to say I see no change at all after started using this product. Is it safe to double the dose? If so, should I give him one chew in the morning and another at night, or would it be better to give him both at the same time? Thanks.

Hi Alessandra,
You can double the dosage for 2 weeks. Many times this will stop the stool eating habit. Give them both at the same time for best results.
We’ve also sent you some information on stool eating.
Coprophagia or stool eating is quite common in dogs. Changing the diet, cutting out difficult to digest grains, and adding additional digestive enzymes might also be a benefit to solving this problem. A good dog food and limiting table scraps can also help.

Causes:
• Poor diet causing nutritional deficiencies, lack of proper fiber, enzymes, and minerals.
• Imbalance in the GI system.
• Odor, taste & texture of others’ stool
• Habitual behavior. This can often take 30 days to break.
• Boredom.
• Stress.
• Competition between dogs.

The label says this product "helps deter dogs from consuming their own stool or other dogs’ stool if they are also given NaturVet Coprophagia Stool Eating Deterrent Soft Chews." Is this product not NaturVet Coprohagia Stool Eating Deterrent Soft chews? I don't understand the distinction if not.

Hi Charlie,
This distinction is for multi dog households or for dogs who randomly eat other dogs feces such as on a walk or at a park. We can only guarantee that the product works if the dogs stool that is being consumed takes our Coprophagia Stool Eating Deterrent. Hope this information helps!
