Barn Owls begin incubation as soon as the first egg is laid and lay additional eggs over a period of around 8-21 days.
After 31-32 days’ incubation, the eggs hatch every 2-3 days, usually in the order they were laid.
This is termed “asynchronous” hatching.
We hope to see more eggs over the next few days so make sure to come back to stay up to date on what’s going on! If you want to get a good look at the egg and mama taking care of it you can jump to 1:28 in the video.
